Giiyong Festival

The award winning Giiyong Festival will take place at Jigamy, just north of Eden. It is a multi-art form festival for the whole family, celebrating traditional and contemporary Aboriginal culture through dance, art, music, film, food and spoken word performances. Giiyong Festival is the only event of its type held within the Yuin Nation, which stretches from the Shoalhaven River down into East Gippsland in Victoria and across to the Great Dividing Range. Everyone is welcome to this celebration of Aboriginal culture - traditional and contemporary. There is something for the whole family. Get hands-on and completely immersed in Culture. Giiyong (pronounced Guy-Yong) means come to welcome in the South Coast language as spoken by the Elders. Giiyong Festival is bringing together some of the region and the nation's finest Aboriginal musicians, performers, writers and presenters to share their culture and their stories with the entire community. Headliners for 2022 included Briggs, Shellie Morris, William Barton, Buddy Knox Blues Band, Stiff Gins, Sean Choolburra and Nooky and so many more. 2023 lineup to be announced soon! We'll be bringing you everything from reggae to hip hop, country, blues, classical, RnB and rock and roll. No pets allowed. Certified assistance dogs welcome. No camping. No Drugs, No Alcohol. Giiyong Festival is presented by Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council and South East Arts.
