08 May 2023
5 minutes

Lake Glenbawn, just 15 minutes out of Scone in Upper Hunter country, is a treasure-trove of outdoor family fun. Here’s our guide to playing the day away when you stay at Reflections Lake Glenbawn.

  • 7am | Good morning sunshine! Start the day right. Relish the lakeside views as you sip your morning coffee on your cabin balcony, or get cracking on some breakfast bacon and eggs on one of the park’s many BBQs.
  • 9am | Gone fishing: Grab the rod and some mates; it’s time to bag some bass. Lake Glenbawn is known for its healthy numbers of Australian bass, golden perch and catfish, making it one of the best freshwater fishing spots in NSW.
  • 11am | Kid-friendly fun: Take the kids on a tour of Lake Glenbawn from your kayak or canoe for some peaceful water exploring. Or for something a little more fast-paced, bring the boat for some tubing or water-skiing adventures.
  • 1pm | Lunchtime: Grab a bite from the Lake Glenbawn Kiosk or drive into Scone and try out some of the fantastic cafes. The Asser House Café has been a social hub in Scone since 1851, so it must be doing something right!
  • 3pm | Time to relax: It’s always nice to put your feet up on holiday. Here’s your chance to read that book that’s been on your list for months. Or indulge in the luxury of a well-deserved nap - you’ll feel a million bucks.
  • 5pm | Walk the walk: Get the legs burning and the heart pumping with some of the beautiful walks around Lake Glenbawn. Say hello to the roos and birdlife and bring the camera to capture the spectacular colours of the evening sky.
  • 6pm | Campfire: No camping trip is complete without a campfire. Cook up the catch of the day or watch the kids delight in toasting marshmallows. Then settle down under the starry skies for some quality time with family and friends.
  • 9pm | Nighty-night! Early to bed and early to rise, so you can do it all again tomorrow. You’re sure to sleep well after all the adventures you’ve had.

If this sounds like your kind of day then book your stay at Reflections Lake Glenbawn. Peaceful, simple and simply stunning - it’s the perfect getaway for both young and old.
