The oldest family floral event in Australia, the world-renowned Jacaranda Festival is a week-long celebration of the purple spectacle that comes from the hundreds of lilac-blossomed trees lining Grafton’s broad streets. The crowning of the Jacaranda Queen, the Grand Float procession and the Venetian Carnival and Fireworks display are just some of the highlights of this event, held every year from the last weekend in October to the first weekend in November.
CurryFest Woolgoolga
It’s a flavour and fun extravaganza at the annual CurryFest Woolgoolga, a celebration of the town’s unique Punjabi heritage. Held each September, CurryFest features more than 150 food and market stalls, cooking demonstrations, yoga, music, dancing and a special kids zone with rides and entertainment. This festival gets better every year. Definitely one to check out!
Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival
You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, you won’t believe your eyes … the acts you’ll see as part of the annual Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival are unforgettable. This week-long event, held each year in the last week of September, is full of fun, laughter, mischief and mayhem and includes specialty kids shows, music, comedy, street performers and more.
Bellingen Fine Music Festival
Beautiful Bellingen is the perfect setting for this world-class festival filled with sublime classical and traditional music. Both western and non-western music, as well as young and internationally renowned musicians, are showcased in this annual festival held each year in September. A highlight on the region’s cultural calendar.
Glenreach Timber Festival
A 40-minute drive inland from Corindi Beach Holiday Park, the Glenreagh Timber Festival is an annual one-day event which celebrates the heritage of this charming village. Featuring woodchops, sheep dog trials, whip cracking, mechanical bull riding, as well as a raft of entertainment, displays, market stalls and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Chop chop!
